Russell Toris
Director of Robotics
Fetch Robotics
2811 Orchard Pkwy
San Jose, CA 95134

Dear Mr. Toris,

I am interested in the Mechanical Engineer position at Fetch Robotics. I am a freshman at The City College of New York in the Grove School of Engineering, currently working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

I have worked on complex electromechanical systems in my junior and senior year of high school, as I used RobotC to program autonomous robot vehicles, a smaller scale version of the type of work Fetch does. Additionally, I have used Computer Numeric Control mills, laser cutters, 3D printers and written G-code to control the mills. Furthermore, I helped design a checkers playing robot. We built it using parts from a 3D printer, implemented the software using Python and computer vision through OpenCV.

I have two years of experience using Autodesk Inventor, so I can use my knowledge of Inventor to more efficiently design in SolidWorks. Having studied DFM techniques and Six Sigma, I am confident that I will be able to apply and combine the concepts that I have learned to reduce waste and manufacturing time. I have extensive records of the technical documentation I have created. Please contact me if you would like to see examples.

Please see my resume for further details of the experience I have 7gained. I look forward to becoming part of the Fetch Robotics team. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Richard Ngai
